Branding your Practice – Color Scheme and Fonts

When it came to figuring out how to brand my practice, it was a little confusing at first. There are so many ideas out there! This is what helped me narrow down how to choose my colors and branding fonts.

Find out what others are saying

I heard a podcast about how to brand your business. And they shared how stepping into your closet and taking a look at what color clothes you buy will help you understand what colors you are attracted to. I thought it was a little silly at first but figured, what the heck. When I stood there, I began to notice that I have purchased a lot of blues, yellows, golds, and whites. When I would shop and decorate my home, I noticed that I had small accents of these colors too. Even my kitchen and picture frames had blues and gold. It was at that moment, that I knew, this was the color that resembled my personality and that made me feel most comfortable. It also helped when I listened to this podcast and Cheryl explains how blue and green undertones lead to a calming effect in your clients.

Once I had that “ah-ha” moment, I was hooked!

Get inspiration from social media platforms

I searched for different branding mood boards on Pinterest. This helped to see what kind of fonts I wanted to implement and what color schemes I wanted to use. Some Pinterest boards offer hex codes for colors, but if you can’t find the one you want, you can simply do a Google search, and there are many different websites that will generate a hex code for you. You will need your different color hex codes so you can keep all your branding colors consistent. If you have a web developer or someone creating your logo for you, ask them for what the hex codes they used, so you can them implement these on different materials you are creating.

I would suggest to make a list of what these Hex codes are for you and put them somewhere you can easily find them. I have used these codes on my website, when creating my favicon for my website, for my ConverKit Opt-in buttons, and when keeping my colors consistent on Instagram.

Implement your brand

If you have not started to use Canva, I highly encourage you to do so! You can set-up your branding colors (by using your color hex code) and fonts so when you begin to create any new document or want to change the colors of a template you found, it’s a quick and easy switch! This is also a huge time saver for those of you who are creating worksheets, posts, or blogs with your content!

Remember to also implement some of these colors into your office to tie everything together!

I hope this information is helpful for you and that you are on your way to creating a brand that resembles you!
