How to stay focused on the big goals

If you didn’t get the paperwork packet, make sure you take some action to get your contracts in order. I know my paperwork has saved hundreds of people attorney fees. If you didn’t get it, that’s fine, but do something to move forward! Doing nothing will not help you get to the next level!

In this post, we’re talking all about how to stay focused. It’s going to be crazy practical! I’m going to share with you my exact focus to get more done in less time. It comes down to Three ‘Es’. I guess you could call it threeasy, eassssssy, or E-liminate waste (or just plain cheeeeeasy).

The 3 Es I Follow

Here are the 3 Es I follow:

1. ENERGY

Think about when you are most energetic and ready to work. If you need some coffee in your body, start with some easy work. When do you get the most done? What do you need to get tasks done? Then, block those things into your schedule and have them repeat. That way, they’ll get done and you can look at the big things that will make a big impact.

2. ELIMINATE

Eliminate distractions. Turn off your phone, and turn some music on, if you like that. Make everything around you focused on focus! Shut your door, tell your family you are in “monk mode” – whatever it takes. Put your phone in airplane mode and make sure you’ve gone to the bathroom.

3. EVERY MINUTE COUNTS

Make every minute count. Not just when you are focusing, but through every day. I listen to podcasts on the way to work, do Facebook while I poop (I actually did a whole podcast episode on how to get more done by working while you poop, it’s my #2 podcast). Start with your big goal, for example “finding a new VA”. Then, break it down into micro-goals. Set timers so you can work without looking at the clock. Then kill it! I look at what I need to get done today and what I need to put off, then I schedule the “put off” things into my schedule, so that I can stop thinking about them. I look at my schedule the night before and then make sure I’m prepared. When you make sure every minute counts, you get tons more done!

ACTION: Create an 3E plan by looking at your energy, eliminating distractions, and making every minute count. Listen to my podcast about things to do while pooping to get more done 🙂

Next, we’re moving into Part 3 | The Systems to Get to the Next Level. These are the exact ways to start to remove yourself from the day-to-day and continue to get to the next level.
