Sarah Barnes brings a wealth of marketing and public relations experience from within the profit and nonprofit sectors to the Practice of the Practice podcast. Sarah was the Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Cook Associates, where she oversaw the development, management and evaluation of marketing and public relations strategies for the firm. Prior to her role with Cook Associates, she helped launch consumer services for Discover Financial Services.

In addition to her role with Campbell & Company, Sarah is an adjunct professor at the Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University where she teaches Digital Marketing and Marketing Principles to undergraduate students. She is a frequent lecturer and guest speaker, having spoken at the Illinois Community Colleges Resource and Development Conference, the Center for Nonprofit Success, the Chicago-Kent College of Law Conference on Non-For-Profit Organizations, the DePaul University Graduate School of Public Relations, Interlochen Arts Academy, and at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana American Marketing Association.

Currently, Sarah sits on the Board of Directors for Trilogy, Inc., a private, not-for-profit community behavioral health agency that serves people with serious mental illnesses. She is the Co-Founder and former board member of Chicago Street Musicians (CSM), a not-for-profit which celebrates Chicago-area street musicians.

Sarah’s career started as the Director of Marketing and Communications for Midwest Young Artists (MYA), a nonprofit organization for talented young musicians.

Sarah received her Bachelor of Music Performance from Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and her Master of Business Administration from Loyola University Chicago, both with honors. As a musician, she has performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Music of the Baroque and other notable Chicago-area ensembles.
